2013 Chevy Volt – A Class Leader

Imagine only hitting the gas station once a month. A fantasy? Far from it. That is the magic of the new 2013 Chevy Volt. In fact, Volt drivers who charge regularly are averaging 900 miles, or about a month between fill-ups.†

The Chevy Volt’s Empowered Drive comes from a Electric + gas drive train that is technologically class leading. A 16.5 kWh T-shaped lithium-ion battery pack powers Volt for an EPA-estimated 38 miles on a full charge. If you also have a full tank of gas, the total driving range is up to 380miles†. It’s electric when you want it, gas when you need it. If the battery runs low, you don’t have to worry because Volt automatically transitions to a unique gasoline powered range-extending capability.

The 2013 Chevrolet Volt enters its third model year production with the same base price as the outgoing 2012 model, $39,145 before state or federal incentives.

More good news for 2013 Chevy Volt buyers will be the extended electric range that GM engineers have worked and researched with new lithium-ion battery. The 2013 Volt now has 38 miles of electric range compared to the 35 miles for the 2012 model.

And here is the best fact about the 2011 North American Car of the year – The officially rated miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) now increases to 98 MPGe from 94 MPGe.

New Features on the 2013 Chevy Volt
