Five Questions for Internet Manager Scott Portland

At Rossi Chevrolet Buick GMC, we pride ourselves on being a part of the community. With that in mind, we wanted to help local New Jersey Chevy fans get to know us better, so we’ve asked a few of our employees to answer five questions about working here at Rossi, advice for car buyers and their favorite places in New Jersey. First up is Internet Manager Scott Portland.

Scott Portland, Internet ManagerWhat’s the best thing about working at Rossi Chevrolet Buick GMC?

I would have to say the people. Everyone is great to work with and they do not treat the customer like other dealerships do. Everyone works as a team.

What advice would you give to first-time car buyers?

I would say to them that we are not the enemy and that one trip to the dealership can save you more time than 10 emails. When you come into Rossi, we will be able to get you approved, into the car that meets your needs and financially happy with your purchase in less than an hour. A lot of people think they are too busy to come in and think they are saving time by having us email them and call them with price after price. However, they are actually taking more time and not utilizing the power of being here where all questions can be answered all at once.

What’s the number one maintenance tip every driver should follow?

If you treat your car well, it will treat you well. Follow the scheduled maintenance and service requirements to ensure your car is always there for you.

What’s the best destination for a road trip?

Nowhere and everywhere! Just get on the road, point your car in a direction and drive. You will find new things and places along the way and have an awesome adventure. All you need is a tank of gas and the open road.

What’s a hidden gem in New Jersey?

Most people, when they think of New Jersey, they view it as a Jersey Shore-like, Soprano-speaking, diner-eating exit away from the next place, all the same. However, as you venture out into western New Jersey, close to the Delaware River, there are these hidden gems of river towns that have art, culture, great restaurants and wonderful bed-and-breakfast-type inns. Places like Milford, Frenchtown, Stockton and Lambertville.
